MEET YOUR MENTOR

Hey everyone, my name is Chris. Since 2012 I have been in the EDM duo Culture Code and in that time have managed to gain over 300 Million Streams, have official remixes for The Chainsmokers, Illenium, Avril Lavigne and have released on labels such as Lost In Dreams, Lowly, Seeking Blue, Proximity, NCS, Heaven Sent & many more.

I've always enjoyed teaching people music production. It started in music college, helping my classmates out with their tracks etc and then I moved onto tutorials. Being totally honest, I didn't even know production lessons were a thing until 2022 when my manager asked if I'd mentor another one of his artists.

This opened up a new journey for me in my music career, which I originally named "The Culture Code Academy". This was later changed to the "Sound Horizon Academy" as I wanted to give this a unique purpose and not be tied to Culture Code. So the SHA was born and in 2023 I did over 1000+ hours of 1-1 production lessons!

I specialise in Melodic Bass as this is the music that I have made for the past decade, however I have a deep understanding on most EDM genres including Dubstep, Progressive House, Drum & Bass and more.

How do the lessons work?

The lessons are completely tailored to your needs. You can pull up a project you've been struggling on, I will listen through and identify what's holding you back and show you how to progress the track.

Alternatively, we can work on specific production techniques, mixing techniques or pretty much anything you'd like to learn.. I gatekeep nothing, genuinely nothing makes me happier than sharing the knowledge I have gained with other producers!

What's the difference between the 30-Day Program & Production Lessons?

The 30 Day Program has a very specific guarantee... a finished track of pro-level quality for you to release within 30 days. The program also has a couple more requirements in order to participate: you must be in Ableton & make melodic bass.

The 1-1 Production Lessons can be any DAW, any genre of EDM and are aimed more at improving certain parts of your track, helping you progress parts of your productions that have been holding you back and generally more tailored at your specific needs.

What do I need to do 1-1 lessons with you?

All you need is Zoom & your DAW. Once you have purchased a lesson you'll be auto-redirected to my Calendar where you can book the session with a Date & Time of your choosing.

The lesson will be on Zoom to ensure we can screen share with high-quality audio.

Will my lesson be recorded?

Yes. All SHA lessons will be recorded for you to always look back on and refer to with your future music!

There has been some amazing artists that have come through the SHA... to name a few: Araya, Luvium, Lost Ashes & many more... so far the total streams across all artists that have come through the SHA (a lot of them started here!) is now in the millions!
